The Company

Forensic Psychology Solutions Ltd is an independant forensic psychology practice based in London and Hertfordshire.

FPS Ltd provide a range of psychological services to criminal justice, social and health agencies. We provide specialist assessments, treatment and treatment planning, consultancy and training to assist in the assessment, management andf treatment of others who present a risk to themselves or others.

The Company Director is Deborah McQueirns. Unlike other companies where associates are used, the Company is set up so that other than training (where others may be brought in to assist) the work you commission will be done by the person you commission it from, thus assuring that you get an excellent quality and high level service.  

Deborah McQueirns (BSc(Hons), MSc, CPsychol CSci AFBPsS CUEW

Deborah McQueirns is a Consultant Forensic Psychologist who is Chartered by the British Psychological Society (BPS) and Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). She has been a Parole Commissioner for Northern Ireland for over seven years. Her other current appointments include commissioned consultant psychologist in HMP High Secure Estate and independant psychologist providing assessment, training and consultancy. She has over 14 years experience as a forensic psychologist working in senior consultancy positions in Her Majesties Prison Service, including as a Principal Grade in High Secure Prisons and the female estate. Prior to this she accrued many years experience as a Probation Officer working mainly with clients with high risk and need.   In addition, she has held consultant grade position in private hospitals, and the National Health Service including work with forensic mental health patients and those with neuropsychological difficulties including acquired brain injury and learning disability. She is an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society, and has experience of holding professional positions within the Division of Forensic Psychology (DFP). She is the book review editor  for Forensic Update. Deborah McQueirns is a qualified expert witness having gained the Cardiff University Expert Witness accreditation.

Deborah McQueirns has links to several academic establishments and is currently undertaking her PhD at the University of Portsmouth.  

Our Services

Assessment and Treatment/ Intervention:

 Deborah McQueirns provides expert and professional forensic psychology services in relation to clients who are currently in custody, are in the community subject to statutory orders or licenses or who are before the Court on criminal matters. She advises in criminal and civil proceedings in relation to the assessment of risk, risk management, cognitive ability and intervention planning. Deborah McQueirns is highly experienced in the assessment and treatment of a wide range of offending behavior and personality functioning, including psychopathy as well as cognitive functioning.  [read more]

Training and Development:

Deborah McQueirns is dedicated to the training and development of others. She has held positions at various universities lecturing and has considerable experience in training other professionals in areas of professional assessment and practice. She is a member of the Special Group in Coaching Psychology and is an experienced supervisor, coach and mentor. Deborah McQueirns can provide standard training or bespoke it to your requirements. She can provide coaching and mentoring as well as formal supervision. [read more]

Consultancy:

Deborah McQueirns has held Consultancy positions in the Prison Service and Private Healthcare settings for many years. She has provided Consultancy services to senior management in crisis negotiation, hostage negotiation, service development, management of challenging behavior and management of risk in relation to a variety of client groups including those held in conditions of high and very high security. Her experience has provided her with the tools to provide consultancy in many situations across client groups. [read more]
